'Animal Crossing: New Horizons' is the best game of the year and it's exactly what we need right now from Eden Hamilton's blog

The past month, I've found myself waking up feeling a great deal more overwhelmed than usual.   Especially when you combine the constant stream of push notifications alerting me to the deterioration of the economy as a result of Covid-19 with the uncertainty of not knowing when I'll be able to see my friends and family in person again, being a human on this rock is a strange experience.   Even when I'm not feeling overwhelmed, I'm experiencing one of the following emotions: anxiety, melancholy, or varying degrees of unsettledness.  

In order to unwind on Saturday, I put my phone in my bed and left my Apple Watch charging on the nightstand.   Then, I went to the basement and made a cozy nest of blankets and put on some headphones.   I then proceeded to spend the next 12 hours playing Animal Crossing New Horizons 2.0 Items: New Horizons on my Nintendo Switch, until I was completely exhausted from the experience.   The most beneficial thing I'd done this year in terms of my mental health was participating in this event.  

This is exactly what I was looking for.
