In a new event that will run from now until January 3, 2022, players will have the chance to obtain RS Gold Buy a new version of the popular "Partyhat" which is a accessory that was initially available at Christmas at the time of 2001. Originally , it was only available in red blue, yellow, green, purple, or white and RuneScape's "The Golden Party Hat Hunt" quest allows players to gain access to one of these sought-after cosmetics with a metallic sheen.

The party hats originally only available in limited numbers for a short time and have since been discontinued and any player fortunate enough to own one is able to sell the hats for billions of coins. While the hats are only decorative and do not offer any stats bonuses, they're now the priciest item available on the Grand Exchange, hitting the maximum price of 2.1billion gold in 2015.

To get their hands on heads or the Golden Party Hat, players will need to meet "various goals" and collect eight golden shards to reward their efforts. Once all eight have been taken, they will be made into a Golden Party Hat.

But, not only is the game time-bound, but just one golden hat will be made per participant. Much like the 2001 hats, Jagex says of the golden hats that "after the cut-off time it will be impossible to make them available to earn again!"

If the new item disrupts the in-game economy and lowers prices of existing partyhats or is an entirely new and more expensive item is yet to be seen. Jagex will be marking the event in the same way however, by transforming the in-game Grand Exchange location into "a Golden Party Hat winter wonderland".

The golden hat is the most awaited addition (sorry) to RuneScape's 20th-anniversary celebrations. The event will be launched alongside the return of the partyhat event, it's the fourth and final part of the anniversary quest old school rs gold, Once Upon a Time, being played throughout the year.
