Which aspects of New World are strikingly similar to those of World of Warcraft from meagamimi3's blog

The creation of characters follows a brief video that introduces the main narrative hook of setting out to explore a mysterious island for the first time. You're making a selection from a list of pre-defined options. There aren't any sliders on this page. There is only one race in the game — Humans — but there is a wide variety of skin tones, hairstyles, tattoos, and other physical characteristics.

It is standard MMO fare to go on a quest in New World. When you speak with an NPC, you will hear a brief voiced-over dialog that will include your mission objective. There is usually some sort of wildlife to kill in this area, but occasionally an NPC will ask you to do something like deliver a message to another NPC, craft something, or retrieve an item. These are all quests that players have essentially completed hundreds of times in World of Warcraft and other massively multiplayer online games (MMOs).

The Town Project Board also provides players with quests to complete. Each settlement has a Town Project Board, which contains a variety of quests that are based on the same major archetypes as the others. Completing these quests will not only improve your reputation with the settlement, but it will also aid in the upgrading of the settlement itself, which will result in higher tiers of crafting stations. These crafting stations, such as the Smelter for smelting ore, are then accessible to anyone, regardless of their social standing or the number of Town Project missions they have participated in or completed.

Standing is the term used by New World to refer to Reputation in World of Warcraft. When you reach certain milestones, the settlement will provide you with a reward. A variety of buffs are available, such as increased experience points for killing monsters in that settlement's Territory (basically what we called a zone), reduced costs for crafting in the settlement, and even more storage space at that settlement's Storage Shed (if one is available).

Speaking of Storage Sheds, each settlement has at least one of them, as well as a Trading Post. The Storage Shed serves as your bank, and the Trading Post serves as your auction house in World of Warcraft. The various Trading Posts are not linked, as they were in the early days of World of Warcraft, but you can search across all Trading Posts if you wish. Prices can vary significantly between settlements — you could save a significant amount of money by purchasing your new sword in Monarch's Bluffs rather than Everfall. A connection exists between the Storage Sheds, but only if the same faction controls both settlements. In contrast to some other modern MMOs, crafting materials must be kept in your inventory rather than in your Storage Shed in order to be used.

In buy New World coins, there are no vendors to be found. Unwanted equipment must be sold to other players at the Trading Post, but most of the time, you'll want to Salvage buy NW gold instead of selling it. Salvaging is akin to disenchanting a spell. You'll also receive some crafting materials as well as a reagent known as repair parts. It costs coin (gold) and a variable number of Repair Parts every time you repair in NW gold , so be prepared.
