Diablo 2 Resurrected: Patch 2.4 includes major class balance changes and skill adjustments from AnneBullock's blog

Diablo 2 Resurrected is gearing up for its first major patch and content update, which will be released in the RPG game's public beta area on January 25. Update 2.4 made a number of impactful changes, covering things like spellcasting, class balance, and Hell difficulty. Patch 2.4 also includes new Horadric recipes and new rune words.

The personalization of cast cooldowns is one of the biggest changes to PTR in the patch. The developers explained that when a Diablo 2 Resurrected Runes player uses an ability with a cast delay, it will no longer increase the cooldown for all other skills with a delay. This is to allow players to use a wider variety of skills and facilitate more gameplay.

Each Diablo 2 Resurrected character class will see their skill adjustments. The game team focused on buffing underused skills, rather than nerfing other skills that were considered powerful. The game team hopes that players can have more reliable choices when using skills.

In addition, the mercenaries you hire in expansion mode have also received some attention, and these changes are also worth noting. Now, when you hire them, their level will always match your level, not above or below your character's random level.

Patch 2.4 will also enable two rune words for the first time, Plague and Pattern. Blizzard said they were already present in the game data, but had never been turned on. Now, they've re-enabled those runes and made some tweaks to others.

The patch also adds four new Horadric Cube recipes, some changes to set item rewards, and increased monster levels in most areas of Hell difficulty.
